Description: The Boker Arbolito Carbon Steel Straight Razor (140519) is an elegant traditional razor with a high performing carbon steel blade.
This razor is a 5/8" -- the universal size which meets all demands. A 5/8" blade is the perfect balance point between being a large enough blade to easily slice through thick, coarse hair while being small enough to shave under your nose or around your ears without a mishap. This also makes it a perfect beginning straight razor, which lets you decide if you will prefer a slightly longer or shorter razor in the future. The carbon steel blade must be rinsed and dried completely after each use to prevent rusting, but rewards with an exceptionally keen and long lasting edge. We recommend using camellia oil for easy maintenance. The Spanish notch at the tip offers better control when trying to line a beard up properly.
This is an extra full hollow ground razor, sometimes referred to as the 'singing' razor because it emits a 'note' when you pluck the edge with your finger. Many straight razor enthusiasts find that thin, singing blades provide the closest, most comfortable shaves. This razor is Dovo's thinnest grind.
Moisture resistant black celluloid handles are hand decorated with marquetry. The handle will protect the blade during storage and offers a nice balance to the blade during use.
Since 1869, razors with the world-renowned tree-brand have been manufactured in Solingen, Germany.Even in these early days, the focus was set on high end materials and perfect handmade quality and craftsmanship. The history of Boker was affected by eventful times. After the second World War, the production of straight razors in Solingen ceased when the plants were destroyed by bombing. Today a new and exclusive line is manufactured in Solingen, reviving the old tradition. These new, exclusive Boker straight razors are manufactured completely by hand. One thing has always been the same in more than 145 years: Boker's passion and enthusiasm for extraordinary blades.
This straight razor is delivered in a traditional razor box with a certificate of authenticity.
We recommend using a storage pouch when the razor is not being used or when traveling.
Handmade in Solingen, Germany.
